These are bold claims that no one—Glock fan or not—can dispute. I have often said that the Glock is the foundation of firearms. His credibility is established and unassailable. Glock is undoubtedly reliable and has been tested in dozens of military, police and administrative tests. If you spend less than a Glock, the question is, "What corners were cut?" If you're paying more for a Glock, the question is, "What's the point?"
One of the standard Glock accessories is the Glock 33-Round 9mm Magazine. While there are plans and the like that add a 19-round magazine, in the Glock 9mm, the 33-round magazine is the grand daddy of them all. The magazine is well finished with good quality control. The base pad is strong enough to withstand many drops and makes for good stability when running speed loads. I have several that have fallen during magazine changes and heavy exercise, and they are fine. On the back of the magazine are the witness holes marked from 5 to 31.
Magazines offer a tactical advantage in home defense, especially if the firearm is a modern 9mm carbine such as the Glock Kel-Tec Sub 2000 magazine. The balance does not materially change the balance of the Glock 9 mm. If anything, the piece is fixed with the magazine insert.
The magazine weighs 20 ounces with a load of 124 grains of ammunition. The proper sequence for loading any high-capacity magazine is to load three to four cartridges, tap the back of the magazine to fully seat the cartridge case behind the magazine, and continue until the magazine is loaded. When you load a Glock magazine there is strong spring pressure at first, as it should be. Joke magazines are weak and stiff at first.
Glock is tough and getting tough. I am able to load the magazine to about 29 rounds before needing the Blackhawk! Magazine loader. The truth is that the magazine loader makes it easy to get going, but most of us - especially guys younger than me - will experience little difficulty loading the magazine to its full capacity.

I have tested the Glock 33 round magazine in several Glock pistols, shooting at an angle and even up. The magazine has never failed to feed and the gun has never failed to feed, chamber, fire or eject. The ammo used was a Federal Cintec 124-grain load—a new load that I find outstanding for practice use. I practice a lot with the Glock and I love shooting this gun.
The 33-round magazines remain loaded for months at a time and will fire, even when loaded to full capacity. If you want to use the traditional method of downloading once or twice, this is good for long-term use. However, with this review I see no need for it.
The 33 round magazine is well balanced. It weighs about 20 ounces complete with 124 grain ammunition.
I often keep this magazine ready in the Glock at home. A long-slide Glock 9mm loaded with spare-dot bullets that offers a 33-round load is a solid home defender. Few, if any of us, have time to carry a flashlight and extra magazines during the night alert and the home invasion teams come in pairs. The Glock 33 round magazine is the best option for home defense. It's also a lot of fun on the range and that means a lot of practice.
