Don't like them (don't like the word h*** - too much in the world today). The shooting world is divided when it comes to this company's guns. Some shooters will only buy Glocks. Others would buy one if it were the only gun in the shop.
Glock 43 Reviews
Why such a division? I have already looked at this situation in some of my other Glock reviews, links below. Suffice to say, some people hold Gaston's famous pistol in high regard, but others not so much. They feel

To some with smaller hands. They are too easy for others. There is also no thumb safety for other shooters. Some people say they are expensive.
However, if you are on the other side of the road, they are pretty much the best pistol around. There is not much gray area with these weapons. One thing most people can agree on is that the M43 is a good little concealment weapon.

Glock is an Austrian company that has grown from a small home goods manufacturer to one of the largest handgun manufacturers in the world. It is estimated that 65% of law enforcement agencies in the United States use Glock pistols and its share worldwide is not small.
Review: The Glock 43
The Glock 43 9mm pistol took the shooting world by surprise when it came out in April 2015. Boldly and loudly replaced by Glock, this was the first single-stack 9mm the company produced. The demand for such a gun has increased among Glockophiles. Many were upset, if I remember correctly, that the Glock introduced the M42 .380 before the 9mm version was released.
Anyway, it was a good seller and remains so to this day, although I would imagine the double stack 43X cut into its sales a bit. Many people prefer to have 10 rounds in a compatible 43X magazine versus the 6 rounds of a standard 43, so the choice, even if the hand grip is a bit wider. There are at least 43 extended magazines, one of which is pictured here.

So now we know where the company came from and how a Gen 3 gun differs from, say, a Gen 4. This is all the basic knowledge needed to discuss Glock guns with any understanding of the concept, generation, etc. is the model of the weapon in front of us now? Why did Glock decide to come out with the first subcompact single-stack 9mm? In a word, demand.

The 43 was the first service-caliber Glock to be carried in a pants pocket. I know some guys who do that. Weighing in at 20 ounces or so loaded and just four and a quarter inches tall, it fits in a pocket. (Never carry a pocket gun in just your pocket - it goes in the holster).
Another question I always ask is: "Which generation is 43?", to which I answer, "myself". 43 is technically a Gen 4. but, to take a quick look at it, it looks like a Gen 5 without a fingerprint sensor. But it doesn't have the Gen 5 double stop/release and the nDLC finish, but the Marksman barrel does.
Hence, it was the forerunner of Gen 5 weapons. It is one of the most popular Glocks out there and they sell a lot of them. At least my friends who own them, regardless of generation, love them.
Here are some pictures I took of the 43 - I didn't take too many because once you've seen one Glock, you've seen them all.
Glock 43 Review: Final Update
The beveled strike block helps the slide retract a little easier due to its beveled edges. Some other manufacturers have adopted a similar block.
Those who will wear the 43 secret may want to exercise with it regularly. Or, I can rephrase this to say that anyone who carries a concealed weapon should practice with it regularly, of course.
My point is that smaller guns take a bit more practice to draw and shoot than larger ones - at least in my experience. I've driven both and at times had a bit more trouble getting my hands on a subcompact car than I have on some of its larger brethren. The problem is that smaller guns are easier to conceal than larger ones but are sometimes harder to hold, draw and shoot well.
Some people just shoot bigger guns better because they can fit all their fingers and the longer sight radius helps accuracy. There is also a sense that larger guns exhibit less recoil than their smaller cousins due to their added weight.

Either way, if you can easily draw and shoot a 6-round 9mm, the 43 is a good candidate for concealed carry. To paraphrase the Beatles, what you need is not love but practice. And I know some of you love to exercise - don't we all?
One last factor you may need to overcome is recoil. I mentioned it above but I wanted to spend a moment on it. That's not a big deal when you're shooting 19-ounce 9mm with target loads. But, switch to your chosen payload and suddenly that bit of plastic and metal develops a personality of its own, sometimes not so pretty. Some arms can only be damaged.
Now, the 9mm tends not to be as aggressive on the rear end as the .40 S&W or .45 ACP, but 9mm defensive loads can still be weak, especially if you're sensitive to recoil. I've found that starting off shooting my favorite 9mm target load of 4.8 grains of Long Shot powder under the nose of a 124-grain Lee round, fired from a Fiocchi SP primer, is a good way to start acclimatization.
Stepping up to factory FMJ rounds and then to full defense loads has worked for me and others in the past. I'm not particularly sensitive but it seems the older I get the more it bothers me. So, I'm always ready for an easy charge. I will touch more on my actual experience with this gun and when I shoot it (below).
Hands On Review Of The Glock 43x
I braved the weather in my backyard. A cold front is moving in and it's a little cloudy out there but my desire to shoot this guy overcame my frustration. I shot my manual mentioned above which is usually accurate in whatever gun it comes in and also the excellent Fiocchi 124 grain JHP. I had good luck with that shipment as well.
My hand was disappointed with this gun which was a little surprising but Fiocchi did well. These are the goals.
Vertical threads are obvious, although you usually see this more on rifles than pistols. Anyway, all the holes are on paper. My armor just didn't like it. And yes, it's a shot put. I put a lot of ammo through my Glock 30 in .45 ACP. As long as you clean the barrel properly, you shouldn't have any problems.
Due to Glock policy I cannot officially endorse the use of lead bullets, but solid bullets are not to blame. Never fire plain cane cartridges into any multi-barrel firearms. Those shots will dissipate the heat and create a mess that can quickly lead to a high pressure situation.
Glock 48 Vs Glock 43
For that matter, the same thing can happen in a traditional floated barrel. If you can avoid plain shot pellets unless you shoot very light target loads, and never shoot them into a stock Glock barrel. I'm just saying shoot hard, then clean up. Only you can decide what ammo you put in your Glock.
Loading the JHP was a different story. He hit very hard and took the gun out of the bag with every shot. Now, I shoot full .44 Magnum loads and are used for recoil. I'm just making a subjective comparison between the two 9mm loads. You could tell you were rocking something harder than a 1000 fps target load when I unloaded the Fiocchi.
Looking at the target, it looks like I have two groups: one in the center of the target and the other slightly to the left. It was interesting, to say the least. I used a hand held front sight just below the little black box and shot about 20 yards from a bag.
I usually tell myself that in order to effectively carry a load, it needs to be a little bit on
