Since its inception, Glock has been synonymous with reliability, accuracy and durability. Glock makes no compromises when it comes to firearms quality and reliability. Now you have the same dependable reliability and durability in a .22 LR pistol. The Glock 44 features a unique hybrid steel-polymer slide and mirrors the iconic Glock 19 frame size for optimal performance for new shooters, sports shooters, and anyone in between.
"The way the G44 mirrors the iconic G19 is outstanding, and shooters of all skill levels will benefit from owning and training with the G44," said retired Marine Christian Wade. "I've put the G44 through a variety of adverse conditions and it outlasts any other Glock ever made."
Wade was one of two associates selected by Glock to rigorously test the Glock 44 in various climatic and adverse conditions. With over 30 years in the Marine Corps and as a firearms expert, Wade understands that the functionality and ease of use implemented in the Glock platform carries over to the Glock 44.
Glock has taken everything fun and functional about the .22 LR pistol and refined it to enhance your experience with optimal performance. "While many .22LR firearms tend to perform differently with specific ammunition, the G44 pistol performed nearly perfectly," said Bryan Peterson, director of product concept development for Federal Ammunition.

Peterson was also an early test partner, expanding his ammunition expertise by testing the G44 with thousands of rounds and a wide variety of ammunition.
The G44 includes many of the latest improvements to the 5th generation Glock pistols, including an ambidextrous slide stop lever and reversible magazine catch, Glock Marking Barrel (GMB) for increased accuracy and performance, adjustable backstraps and adjustable rear sights. The G44 also features a phantom-hole loaded chamber indicator and comes standard with two 10-round auxiliary loading magazines.

If you're looking for a big, powerful cartridge, your two best options are the Auto 10mm and the .44 Remington Magnum, commonly known as the ".44 Magnum." Whether you need a defensive weapon to walk into bear country or just enjoy hitting the range with a large caliber pistol, these two cartridges are powerful, reliable and extremely effective.
Choosing the right one depends on many factors, including your preference for the weapon and how you intend to use it. So let's explore which of these large caliber pistols is best for you.

One of the first things most shooters notice when comparing two calibers, such as 10mm vs. 44 magnum, is pricing. Price per cartridge is an important factor in many ammo, gun or caliber choices.
At the time of writing, you could expect to pay 65 cents per round for good range ammo in 10mm and 44 magnum ammo. Self-defense hollowpoint bullet ammo will run you a bit more, and the load most of us would be comfortable with is about a buck a round in each caliber.
Another important difference is the size. Whether you look at the dimensions list or hold both cartridges in your hand, you can immediately see that the .44 Magnum ammo is clearly larger. From bullet size to rim diameter and overall length, the .45 Magnum is the larger and heavier cartridge, which becomes apparent when we start comparing stats.
These two cartridges are commonly used in very different pistols. 10mm auto ammo, as the name suggests, was made for semi-automatic pistols, while .44 Magnum is commonly used in revolvers. If you want, this can guide your decision independent of performance statistics.

Comparing the statistical performance of two different containers can be very complicated. There are differences in size, design, intended use, and charge quality that can significantly change the stats of different cartridges. For comparison, we selected three pairs of comparable products. each pair is from the same product line, one for Auto 10mm and one for .44 Magnum.
The first pair are from PMC Ammunition's bronze JHP line of holsters. The 10mm Auto uses a 170 grain bullet, while the .44 Magnum is a 180 grain bullet. This gives a good comparison as the spheres are the same size.
The other is Hornady's XTP series chambered for 180 grain 10mm and 200 grain .44 Magnum cartridges. Once again, a similar (but not the same) dot size gives us a close point of comparison.
The third pair, which are Barnes VOR-TX products, is probably the best comparison as it clearly shows the difference between the two cartridges. The 10mm Auto uses 155-grain bullets, while the .44 Magnum uses 225-grain bullets.
Debate & Analysis: The 5 Best Handguns
This is obviously a small sample size, but it gives us a good frame of reference to compare the two cartridges.
Of all the possible stats you can look at, speed is probably the most important. Bullet velocity affects energy, accuracy, and more, so it's often at the center of many ammunition discussions.
The velocity numbers above clearly show that the .44 Magnum is the fastest round. Not only does it have the fastest velocity (both at the muzzle and at 50 yards) of the six products we reviewed, but it is fastest in all three benchmarks. The Auto 10mm is certainly not a slow round, and with a muzzle velocity consistently over 1,000 fps, it would be a winner in many cartridge comparisons. But the velocity of the .44 Magnum makes it a clear 2nd in this comparison.
If you use a pistol cartridge for personal protection or hunting, energy is a key stat, and if you know a lot about ammo, you already know which round wins this matchup.

The .44 Magnum, a larger cartridge with heavier bullets and higher velocities, is the clear winner. It is known for its extraordinary strength. one cartridge we tested had a stated muzzle energy of over 1,200 ft-lbs! Again, the 10mm Auto isn't weak. used to destroy many of the largest and most dangerous animals on the planet. But the .44 Magnum is still the more powerful of the two.
To get an idea of what each round brings to the self-defense table, we shot each one in Clear Ballistics Gelatin. Following Federal Bureau of Investigation ammunition testing protocol, we shot Barnes VOR-TX 10mm and 44 Magnum through a 4-layer fabric barrier into the gel.
In our testing, the 10mm and 44 magnum rounds performed somewhat similarly. The 10mm penetrated about 2 inches deeper into the gelatin (14.8" vs. 12.5"). For both calibers, penetration fell within the FBI's "acceptable" range of 12 to 18 inches.
Looking at the expansion, both rounds showed the kind of bloom we want to see. 44 magnum bullet extended slightly more than 10 mm (0.82 to 0.8 in). In either case, this gives you a much larger dynamic wound channel than you would with a smaller caliber pistol like a 9mm.

The size of the bullets recovered would be a sight that would make most self-defense shooters relax. Both calibers are clearly excellent weapon choices for self-defense if you look at the argument from a power perspective. Of course, both of these loads offer significant recoil compared to smaller pocket pistols. We can also note that no handgun caliber can hold a candle to much faster rifle reloads when it comes to self defense.
Choosing between the two cartridges can be difficult, but it seems that the Auto 10mm might be better for personal protection, while the .44 Magnum is better for hunting and big game. The ultimate power of the .44 Magnum
